About
Originally from Colorado, Travis Wicklund has been exploring the intersection of music, film, and interactive media. He most recently graduated with an M.F.A. in Media Scoring at Brooklyn College's Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema in New York City, and along the way, he's added a number of short films and commercials to his scoring portfolio. He was also recently selected to participate in the 2023/24 Society of Composers and Lyricists mentorship program.
Before his deep dive into media composition, Travis was lighting up the dance floor as a certified Ballroom and Latin dancer, traveling the country to teach, compete, and choreograph. He also holds a B.A. in Communications Creative Media with a Music Minor from Marymount Manhattan College. At Marymount, Travis created "Time Pieces", an interactive art installation that bagged the audience award. It was more than just an art project; Travis combined video, sound, and sensors, giving participants a chance to shape their own experience that was implemented with an Arduino using Max/MSP/Jitter. Continuing on with his passion for interactive media, he built a 2-D game for this MFA thesis in which he designed the game, composed and integrated the music. With certifications in Pro Tools and Audiokinetic’s Wwise, and a genuine passion for games and interactive experiences, Travis is eager to bring unique audio landscapes to life and currently splits his time between New York and Shepherdstown, WV. |
