About

Travis T Wicklund is a composer and sound artist working across film, immersive audio, and installation-based practices. His work approaches sound as both narrative and environment, with an emphasis on atmosphere, spatial perception, and attentive listening. Drawing from electronic synthesis, acoustic instrumentation, and field recording, he creates music and sound works shaped by texture, duration, and place.

He holds an MFA in Media Scoring from the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Brooklyn College. His practice includes interactive and systems-based projects such as Fyrkantig Fågel, a solo-developed 2D game exploring interactive sound implementation, and Time Pieces, an award-winning installation integrating sound, video, and sensor-driven interaction.

In addition to his artistic work, Wicklund composes music and designs sound for film, commercials, and commissioned projects. He was selected for the New York Chapter of the Society of Composers & Lyricists Mentorship Program (2023/24). Prior to working in sound, he had a professional career as a certified ballroom dancer and instructor, an experience that continues to inform his sensitivity to movement, timing, and embodied experience.

Originally from Longmont, Colorado, he spent the past decade living and working in New York City and now based in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Across contexts, his practice centers on listening as an embodied act shaped by space, memory, and environment.
