About

Travis T Wicklund is a composer and sound artist whose practice spans film scoring, audio installation, and interactive media. Working with synthesizers, field recordings, and acoustic sources, he constructs sound environments that treat listening as an embodied, spatial act — shaped by place, memory, and duration.

He holds an MFA in Media Scoring from the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Brooklyn College. His projects include Time Pieces, an award-winning installation integrating sound, video, and sensor-driven interaction; Binaural Sound Walk, a site-specific work exploring immersive listening in physical space; and Fyrkantig Fågel, a solo-developed game built around interactive audio implementation. His field recording composition Bus Dreams extends this interest in place and environmental sound.

Wicklund composes for film, commercials, and commissioned projects, and was selected for the New York Chapter of the Society of Composers & Lyricists Mentorship Program (2023/24). Before working in sound, he had a professional career as a certified ballroom dancer and instructor — an experience that continues to inform his attention to movement, timing, and physical presence in his work.

He is based in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
